My children are amazing and the time we had together was some of the best memories of my life. Unfortunately for us, my husband became abusive and I had to go back to work to support the children and I. We miss that time together everyday and now struggle as we fight the court system over custody issues.Marciahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09094596086811205894noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6291740040609625187.post-65346739742237147362010-12-08T23:59:06.405-08:002010-12-08T23:59:06.405-08:00Lundy,

I loved it and have been feeling the same way for so long, School and the education system are destroying our most precious resources. Children were not created to live in this manner. Unfortunately, 40 to 50 minutes for recess is being VERY generous - it's more like 30 and if you take the time off for all the children to line up perfectly straight, all of them not talking BEFORE they are allowed to file oh-so-quietly down the hall to the out-of-doors. It's usually more like 10 to 15 minutes of actual playtime, since most young children find it difficult at best to stand still or remain silent when they are excited at the prospect of going outside to play today since it's so sadly in such short supply.

Of course, most of what remains of the alloted playtime is then spent getting yelled at or threatened by school personnel who can't seem to understand that children need to run and jump and yell and just let loose. Go figure!!!

Regards!CaraGiahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02905315581174991321noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6291740040609625187.post-30986001516229875872010-10-21T16:41:46.941-07:002010-10-21T16:41:46.941-07:00Thank you for this, Lundy. (Although I wish there were a word other than "homeschool" that didn't necessarily include the words "home" or "school" because those terms are not the point.)
love
JenJenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07062095627197130537noreply@blogger.com
